Set amongst rolling paddocks, native bushland and tranquil dams, Prana Cottage is a place where nature gently invites you to slow down. Wake to the enchanting chorus of bellbirds, spend your afternoons watching kangaroos graze nearby, and keep an eye out for wombats, wallabies, soaring wedge-tailed eagles and more than 80 species of native birds that call Prana Estate home.
Whether you're seeking a romantic getaway, a family escape, a weekend with friends or a peaceful base to explore the Hunter Valley, Prana Cottage offers the perfect balance of comfort, character and seclusion.
Inside, you'll find a warm and inviting cottage filled with country charm. Sleeping up to six guests, the cottage features two comfortable bedrooms, a cosy living area with a sofa bed, a fully equipped kitchen, and a modern bathroom complete with underfloor heating and a heated towel rail for those crisp Hunter Valley mornings. During the cooler months, curl up beneath traditional Nanna woollen blankets with a good book or a glass of Hunter Valley wine after a day exploring the region.
With uninterrupted views across bushland, dams and rolling countryside, Prana Cottage is also a haven for artists, photographers, birdwatchers, writers and anyone seeking inspiration in nature. Bring your sketchbook, camera or journal—or simply a willingness to slow down—and let the ever-changing light, abundant wildlife and peaceful landscape awaken your creativity. Sometimes the greatest masterpiece begins with simply sitting quietly and listening to the sounds of the bush.
One of the things our guests love most is simply sitting on the verandah. As the sun begins to set, the soundtrack of the estate changes. Bellbirds give way to frogs calling from the dams, native wildlife begins to emerge, and on clear winter nights the stars appear in breathtaking brilliance. Far from the city lights, the Milky Way stretches overhead in a truly unforgettable display. Here, the days are measured by birdsong rather than notifications. It's the perfect place to switch off, breathe deeply and reconnect with the simple pleasures of country life.
Despite feeling wonderfully secluded, you're perfectly positioned to experience some of the Hunter Valley's best food, wine and events. Our personal favourite, Bistro Molines, is just a short 10-minute drive away and well worth experiencing during your stay, while the wineries, restaurants, concert venues and attractions of Pokolbin are only around 30 minutes from the cottage.
For those who enjoy exploring on foot, take a leisurely stroll to the nearby New Gokula Hare Krishna Farm, where free-roaming peacocks wander the grounds, gentle sacred cows graze peacefully, and delicious vegetarian meals are served by donation.

Prana Cottage is nestled within our family-owned estate, where you'll experience the authentic rhythm of country life. You may spot our free-ranging chickens wandering the paddocks, wake to the occasional rooster greeting the dawn, or catch a glimpse of us quietly tending the gardens and caring for the land. While the cottage offers complete privacy with its own dedicated outdoor spaces, some areas of the estate remain part of our family home and working property.
