Positive: I recently stayed at Shivalaya Boutique Stay with my parents and my partner. The place is in a quiet location and has a beautiful view of Arunachala. The host, Shankar, was kind and tried to do his best to fulfill our requests. Honestly, I was hesitant to leave a critical review as Shankar is a friendly host who is working to create a conscious community. However, I believe reviews are important for accountability and helping others make informed decisions.

Negative: Unfortunately, our stay fell short of expectations, particularly for my elderly parents. The property did not look at all like the videos and photos displayed online. It's advertised as a boutique stay but is definitely more suitable for a younger crowd and not for a family. The washroom was in poor condition, with no curtains on the windows for privacy, allowing anyone walking by to see inside. I reported this early on during our stay but nothing was done to amend it. One of the bedrooms also lacked curtains, compromising privacy. The mattresses smelled of mildew, were dusty, and were generally in poor condition. There is ongoing construction, resulting in increased dust and noise. These issues made the place uncomfortable and not worth the price charged. I hope the property undergoes significant updates before being rented out again.
